This past week I: planned this weekends trip to Zermatt, Switzerland, purchased plane tickets for my travels to and from the US this fall, researched places to spend Christmas with my family, and this morning my brain couldn't let go of swimming pools. Yes, that's totally unrelated to the other items, but as we go forward with building our new home it's something I need to look into. Jeff and I are undecided on it's necessity, so I'm soliciting your opinion. We'll be gone until Monday, and when I get back I hope to read the "pros and cons of swimming pools" in my comments!

Pros:
- Nice place to relax after an icky day of yard work
- Hello, you live in Texas, it can be used year round
- Tricia & Steven won't have to get a pool.
- The grandkids will want to visit YOU rather than you always having to go visit them
- It maintains your house's status as the "party house"
- It's a selling point when soliciting house sitters
- It's your favorite form of exercise
- It's less area you have to landscape
- AND, you know you want one, and c'mon, this is your "dream house" The last house. Your retirement house.
Cons:
- Maintenance - Hire a pool guy, c'mon... hmm pool guy, maybe that should be a pro ;-)AND, a new pool is a little less maintenance that you're used to.
- Cost of water
- Cost of pool
I would also like to present a proposal.... the 2 cons... Cost of water maintenance could be eliminated if you paid to have the pool put in at Tricia & Steven's house. This would alter some of the pros... but hey... just a thought.
Tricia,
Thanks for the laugh!
