Jeff's adventure has begun

Jeff is now officially an expatriot. I'll follow on the 12th of June. Jeff's not certain but he may spent some of the next 12 days in London, or maybe Qatar again. His assignment for me is to find a flat, and some local cell phones. I'll spend the next few days getting Tricia's a little tidier, and my last weekend until August in Austin for a wedding of one of my scouts and Juli Todd's dance recital.

There is a Doctor in the house!!

It's official. Our eldest daughter is now officially Dr. Patricia Norris Linger D.D.S.. Graduation was at 4PM, with 12 friends and family to cheer her on and delight in her speech as class president. My sister Barbara gets the prize for coming the farthest. We gathered at the home of Mr. and Dr. Linger for the graduation celebration. (i.e we ate and drank.)

The Gang's all here

Steven got in last night, and Jeff got in 30 min. ago. What a way to celebrate a 28th birthday for Steven and J and J's 29th anniversary. Barbara comes in tomorrow, and Tricia's graduation from dental school is Thursday. We have no plans for this weekend. YEAH!!! Not that there isn't anything to do.

The Permit is in the mail

That elusive work permit is on it's way from Rome to Jeff, to be converted to a work visa at the Italian consulate upon arrival in Houston. Jeff will be making a quick trip to Qatar at the end of this week and be back for Tricia's graduation. May is always a busy month, trying to schedule birthday and anniversary celebrations into the regular activities. It's been made more complex with these men on other continents! I had a wonderful Mother's day, and actually went to a restaurant with my daughters and husband. Retirement is wonderful.

We're Homeless and exhausted

Boy have we been busy! 1100# packed, crated and ready to ship to Milan. Many boxes packed and put directly into storage vaults on the Allied van. House is cleaned and vacuumed. And...Big OOPS I forgot to send off a final email to me with everyone copied to my new address before we disconnected on Wednesday. So... there is a very good chance I don't have your email address. Please contact me with that info at janetn1956@gmail.com. Thank You. Now where was I. I'm officially done with work last Friday. We're staying with Tricia for the interim, which is OK because husband Steven is in Singapore. And man are Jeff and I getting to old to be dealing with moving furniture plants, and interim living stuff to various locations. If I didn't mention it, WE ARE EXHAUSTED!! But it's done and now we just need to tidy up the bomb we dropped at Tricia's, both inside and in the garage.

Jeff's Italian Work permit is supposedly ready to be issued. Should be able to go to the Italian Consulate here in Houston next week to get the Visa(s).
First day "In Country" is targeted to be June 1, 2007. Hey that's only 6 weeks late. Not bad by Italian standards. In Italy, lateness is usually measured in terms of Years and sometimes decades.
